$15.00 per hour

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing technical accounting work for the Two Rivers Gun Range. Work involves ensuring customers are properly registered, and charged for shooting range activities selected. Responsible for accounting of all daily sales activities. Ensures all processes conform to Camden County financial and accounting policies as determined by the County Finance Director.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work under supervision of Two Rivers Range Master;
  • Work up to 30 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required;
  • Adheres to County personnel policies and procedures at all times;
  • Greets and registers customers;
  • Enters customer’s information into Range financial system;
  • Presents safety video for all new customers and verifies all required paperwork is filled out;
  • Issues Two Rivers Gun Range membership;
  • Answers telephone and remains in radio communication with all range safety officers;
  • Records shooting totals for gun range;
  • Processes payments based on requested activity;
  • Makes appointments for range visits;
  • Balances daily cash reports and processes deposits;
  • Ensures the cash drawer has appropriate change for next day;
  • Maintains all supplies inventory (office, bathroom and grounds);
  • Operates a variety of office equipment such as computer, calculator, printer, copy machine, fax machine, postage machine, etc.;
  • Uses secretarial and clerical supplies, and computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) etc.;
  • Interacts and communicates professionally with customers, vendors, immediate supervisor, and supervisors from other departments, other employees, and the general public;

Additional Duties

  • Performs other work as required or when directed by administration;
  • In the event of an emergency, all Camden County employees are considered essential and may be required to perform alternate duties;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of relevant county ordinances, polices, and procedures;
  • Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping practices;
  • Knowledge of general office practices;
  • Knowledge of computerized systems for the maintenance of financial records;
  • Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations;
  • Skill in maintaining accurate financial records and in preparing reports;
  • Skill in utilizing such modern office equipment as a computer, calculator, and copier;
  • Skill in oral and written communication;
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team;
  • Presents a positive image of the County by courteously working with the public;

Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements

  • A vocational diploma/degree in accounting with two to three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable/payable, and/or retail sales work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years;
  • Customer service training is required within 3 months of hiring;
  • First Aid certification is required within 6 months of hiring;
